Affiliate marketing is good for the environment and economy.

Affiliate Marketing is good for the environment and economy.

Affiliate marketing is one growth opportunity that makes sense for affiliates and merchants alike. Conventional media advertising methods carry heavy overheads that merchants can ill afford during a recession, so TV and Radio advertising sales have plummeted. Merchants don't mind advertising where sales are guaranteed, and this is the major advantage of affiliate advertising for two main reasons.

Firstly, affiliates often only get paid once a sale is made - so this method of advertising is not speculative as with traditional advertising methods - don't sell nothing, pay nothing, unless you pay per click, though PPC advertising is often far more cost effective than conventional media advertising.

Secondly, you may have noticed that as major retail stores are closing down quicker than you can say "What Recession" - more people are purchasing Christmas gifts via the Internet. This trend is happening because you can search for products quicker than you can park and pay, and then traipse up and down the shopping mall. Once you can find the perfect gift / product on the Internet, you can then do very quick price comparisons - and by searching on the Internet, you can't help but notice affiliate advertising leading you this way, or swaying you in another direction.

With more online shopping, we use our cars less, pay less for fuel, burn less CO2, hence affiliate marketing is good for the environment, and savvy retailers should consider creating their own affiliate advertising program.
